This project involved restoring a substantial Victorian terrace in East Melbourne and adding a contemporary extension to the rear.
The design follows a twofold approach: it respects the materiality of the original brick structure while introducing a refined, ordered aesthetic. Drawing inspiration from prewar Italian Rationalism, the new addition reinterprets the neoclassical language of the existing façade with a contemporary perspective.
Developed in collaboration with Eckersley Garden Architecture, the project seamlessly integrates landscape elements into the building’s façade, creating a harmonious connection between architecture and nature.
